Cookie Policy

Last updated: 29 September 2026

This page explains which cookies and browser storage Moonladle sets, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how you can control it. It complements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your personal data more broadly.

1. Cookies and browser storage in plain words

A cookie is a small text entry that a website asks your browser to keep and to send back with later requests. Local storage and session storage are related browser features: the data stays on your device and is only read by the site while you use it; it is not sent to our server automatically.

Moonladle uses only first-party cookies and storage, meaning entries set by moonladle.com itself. We do not set advertising cookies, and no third party places tracking cookies through our pages.

2. Strictly necessary

These entries are required for the site to work and are exempt from consent. Each one is created only when the feature that needs it is actually used, so for example no session cookie exists until you sign in.

3. Preferences and convenience

These entries remember how you like to use Moonladle. They live only in your browser, are never used to profile you, and are created only when you use the feature in question.

Because everything listed here is needed to provide a feature you actively use, the cookie banner is currently informational: choosing Accept or Decline is recorded the same way and nothing extra is loaded when you accept. If we ever add optional cookies, for example for analytics, we will ask for your consent before setting them and update this page.

4. Third parties

No third-party script runs on Moonladle pages. The only outside services your browser may contact are:

  • Google sign-in: if you choose to sign in with Google, the sign-in itself happens on google.com under Google's own privacy policy and cookies. We receive your name, email address and profile picture; we do not receive or set any Google cookies.
  • Google profile pictures: a profile picture taken from a Google account is loaded from Google's image servers, so your browser makes an ordinary image request to Google whenever such a picture is shown. Uploaded pictures and recipe images are stored on our own server.
  • Fonts: our web fonts are bundled at build time and served from our own domain. No request is made to Google Fonts while you browse.
  • Hosting (Zone.ee): like any web server, ours keeps short-lived access logs containing IP address, requested URL and time. These are used only for security and troubleshooting and are not linked to cookies.

5. What we do not do

To be explicit about the things this page does not need to cover:

  • No web analytics or audience measurement, first- or third-party.
  • No advertising, remarketing or social-media tracking pixels.
  • No browser fingerprinting and no cross-site tracking.
  • No third-party error-monitoring script in your browser. Server-side errors are written to our own logs without any tracking identifier.

6. Managing your choices

  • Cookie banner: your choice is stored in the cookie-consent entry in local storage. To see the banner again or change your answer, clear site data for moonladle.com in your browser settings.
  • Browser settings: every modern browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data, per site or globally. If you block the strictly necessary cookies you will not be able to sign in.
  • Signing out removes the session cookie. Switching language overwrites the NEXT_LOCALE cookie, and toggling the theme overwrites the theme entry.
  • Account data: clearing site data removes everything listed above from your device, but not data already saved to your account, such as your home bar or viewing history. How to view or delete that is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Changes and contact

If we change what we store, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions about cookies or this policy can be sent to: privacy@moonladle.com
